Aloma Wright (b. March 10, 1950) is a vast and prominent American actress best known for her roles in drama and comedy TV shows and movies. She plays Viola in Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan, as Gretchen Bodinski on the USA Network drama series Suits. Also, she portrays Maxine Landis in the drama series Days of Our Lives.

Before making appearances in television series including Suddenly Susan, Dangerous Minds, Frasier, Friends, Malcolm in the Middle, Ally McBeal, Girlfriends, and Judging Amy, as well as movies like Stuart Saves His Family, Devil in the Flesh, and Shadow Hours, Wright started her acting career on stage.

Additionally, in 1998, she landed a recurring role in the Fox series Power Rangers in Space. She plays Lovita’s aunt on the Steve Harvey program. In the television series The Soul Man, she portrays Ms. Shirley in a recurring role.

Wright got the role to play Laverne Roberts on the NBC comedy Scrubs in 2001. Her persona ended up dying off in “My Long Goodbye” after six seasons. In the seventh season, she made a comeback as Nurse Shirley.

Her role was originally supposed to be that of Laverne’s drunken, agnostic sister, but these rumors proved to be untrue. Later, when JD is reflecting on everyone in his life in the season 8 finale, “My Finale,” she made a comeback to play Nurse Roberts.

Wright also made cameo appearances on NYPD Blue, NCIS, Cold Case, and Mad Men in the 2000s. In addition, she starred in supporting roles in movies including Mr. Deeds, Bring It On, The Brothers, and Johnson Family Vacation.

Days of Our Lives

Wright debuted on the NBC daytime serial opera Days of Our Lives in 2008 as nurse Maxine Landis. Wright also had an ongoing role in Shonda Rhimes’ Private Practice from 2012 to 2013, and she made an appearance in a Scandal episode in 2015.

he appeared in the fifth season of the USA Network legal drama Suits in 2015, playing Gretchen Bodinski, Harvey Specter’s new secretary. Up to the 2019 series finale, she made regular appearances on the program.
