Charlotte de Witte Biography
Charlotte de Witte (b. July 21, 1992) is a beautiful Belgian record producer and also DJ, She is famous for her acid techno and minimal techno musical techniques. She founded the KNTXT music label.
Hailing from Ghent, Belgium, she first immersed herself in Ghent’s vibrant underground nightclub scene back in 2009. It was there that her love for electronic music took hold. By 2010, she had ventured into DJing, primarily showcasing her skills in the realm of electro music. It wasn’t until a couple of years later that she began her journey as a producer.
In 2011, she gained recognition by winning a DJ contest at Studio Brussel, which led to a memorable performance at the renowned Tomorrowland festival. To challenge stereotypes and preconceptions about female DJs, she adopted the stage name Raving George and released her debut EP in 2013.
Following the release of several EPs on esteemed labels like Bad Life and Crux Records, she achieved widespread success with her 2015 single “You’re Mine,” featuring the talented Oscar and the Wolf.
This marked a turning point in her career as she shed the Raving George alias and embraced her real name. Alongside this transition, her musical style evolved from electro and electro house to a more techno-oriented sound. This shift was inspired by a captivating set she witnessed by German Techno DJ Len Faki at a festival.
Back in 2015, she made an exciting debut with her first EP released under her own name. This EP, called “Weltschmerz,” was a product of her collaboration with Turbo Recordings. The positive reception she received encouraged her to continue creating and sharing her music with the world.
In the years that followed, she continued to captivate audiences with a series of EPs. In 2017, she released a collection of tracks that resonated deeply with listeners. Then, in 2018, she treated her fans to the highly acclaimed “Heart of Mine” and “The Healer” EPs, which further solidified her position in the music industry.
She made a significant milestone by launching her very own record label, KNTXT in 2019. Under KNTXT, renowned artists such as Chris Liebing, Monoloc, and Alignment have released their works. That same year, she received the esteemed title of the world’s best techno DJ at the DJ Awards, solidifying her position as one of the genre’s most respected figures.
Since then, she has continued to ascend in the world of techno, earning numerous accolades and acquiring the fitting moniker of “techno queen.” On February 5, 2021, she delighted her fans by announcing her engagement to Italian techno DJ and producer Enrico Sangiuliano through social media.
Later in the year, the couple unveiled their first collaborative record, a remix of the iconic 1990 trance track “The Age of Love” by an Italian-Belgian duo. The remix resonated with audiences, reaching the top of Beatport’s 2021 techno bestsellers list and achieving a gold record in 2022 for selling over 500,000 units. In a joyous celebration of their love, the couple tied the knot in 2022, marking a new chapter in their lives together.
