David Croft Biography
David Croft (b. June 19, 1970) who popularly goes by the name Crofty, is a British television broadcaster who works as lead commentator on Sky Sports F1 HD. Likewise, Mrs. Crofty has been working as a chief commentator for Sky’s Formula since 2012.
On December 7, 2011, it was announced that David would serve as the lead commentator for Sky Sports’ coverage of Formula 1 (F1) for the 2012 season. He was joined by a team that included Anthony Davidson, Ted Kravitz, Natalie Pinkham, and Martin Brundle.
Beginning with the 2006 Formula 1 season, David Croft succeeded Maurice Hamilton as the BBC Radio 5 Live Formula One analyst and host.
He worked with former Formula 1 driver Anthony Davidson, pitlane reporters Natalie Pinkham and Ted Kravitz, and others in this capacity to cover every Grand Prix, covering qualifying and the three rehearsals. Several channels, such as BBC Red Button, BBC Sport Online, and BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra, made this coverage available.
Croft began his broadcasting career in hospital radio at Radio Fairfield. He spent three years working at BBC Three Counties Radio, first as a sports reporter and then as sports editor. He moved to BBC Radio 5 Live in December 1998.

During his time at the station he covered the 2002 FIFA World Cup, and 2004 Athens Summer Olympics and presented Saturday Sport on 5 during both the summer of 2004 and 2005.
Besides that, Mr. Croft has been a commentator for a couple of boxing events in Premier Sports including an early Tyson Fury fight, the Joe Calzaghe’s last fight against Roy Jones Jr. held at Madison Square Garden.
