Laura Woods is a captivating Irish TV news presenter, exuding both beauty and charm in her on-screen presence. Notably, she holds the esteemed positions at RTE TV and Virgin Media Television, where she brings her unique flair to delivering news to audiences across Ireland

During her time at Trinity, Laura ventured into the world of broadcasting, starting as a continuity announcer on RTÉ Radio. Her journey continued in 1999 when she presented the Breakfast Show on Trinity FM. In 2000, she made her debut on RTÉ Television as a continuity announcer.

Stepping away from continuity announcing in September 2002, Laura became the face of iD until May 2005. During this time, she also co-presented three series of The Cafe alongside Aidan Power. Laura showcased her anchoring skills by leading RTÉ’s coverage of the Festival of World Cultures in 2005 and 2006, as well as joining Dave Fanning in Hyde Park for Live8 in July 2005.

Laura began anchoring SMS in September 2005, but then opted to focus on presenting Winning Streak, an Irish National Lottery game show, from January to March 2006. In June 2006, she hosted another lottery game show, Fame and Fortune, followed by The Trump Card from June to August 2007, and The Big Money Game from June to August 2008.

Her versatility led her to expand beyond game shows, as she also presented an event guide on 2fm’s The Will Leahy Show and made an appearance on the People in Need Telethon in 2007. Laura even took on the challenge of being a participant on the show Anonymous in the first half of 2008.

Now at independent station Virgin Media Television, Laura Woods has been a valued panellist on the Midday programme. She has taken on the role of co-presenter for the breakfast show Ireland AM, where she continues to showcase her talents and connect with audiences.
