Lisa Joy Biography

Lisa Joy (b. May 23, 1977) is a famous American movie director, screenwriter, and also an attorney. She is mostly known as the co-writer of the HBO series “Westworld” which ran from 2016 to 2022.

Lisa is a graduate of Stanford University. She also worked in Los Angeles at McKinsey & Company as their consultant before she joined Havard Law School.  She practiced law in California after being admitted to the bar in 2009. This was before she ventured into film.

At the beginning of her career, Lisa had submitted a sample script for Pushing Daisies, a fantasy-comedy from ABC. She was in luck as a friend forwarded the script to a known TV producer and ended up getting a job in 2007 as a staff writer.

Lisa became even more famous after she became the co-creator of the acclaimed HBO series Westworld, the series ran for a complete four seasons. The HBO series beca,e one of the most futuristic and famous series on TV.

She even earned great award nominations for her work on Westworld like the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series and many more.

Lisa signed a new deal with Amazon to produce a new TV series for them with her husband Jonathan Nolan. The deal is worth a total of $150 million for five years. Lisa and Jonathan were named executive producers as part of the deal on the new science fiction series from Amazon called The Peripheral.
