Lucy Bustamante (b. Sep 26, 1980) is an accomplished American journalist who currently holds the position of morning news anchor at NBC10, and she’s also the breaking news anchor at Telemundo62.
Before joining NBC10, Lucy served as the weekday morning and noon anchor at WVEC-TV in Norfolk, Virginia. Her dedication to delivering the news led her to be the daily weekday morning news anchor for La Selecta 103.3 at WVXX-FM, a Spanish-language radio station.
One of the highlights of her career was her time as an evening anchor for WWL-TV in New Orleans, where she and her colleagues worked tirelessly for three months, covering the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Lucy’s outstanding work has been acknowledged with numerous awards, including two Emmy Awards. She received one for her exceptional coverage of the explosion at the Philadelphia Energy Solutions plant in South Philly in June 2019.
Additionally, she has received several Associated Press awards for her excellence as an anchor and has been honored with three regional Edward R. Murrow awards in 2011 for her compelling documentary on the Affordable Care Act in Virginia.
Her contributions have also earned her recognition in 2004 for breaking news in New Orleans and a prestigious Peabody Award in 2005 for her outstanding coverage of Hurricane Katrina.
