In June 2020, the former couple, Nicole and Dre, publicly disclosed their divorce, with Nicole attributing it to irreconcilable differences, marking her second separation. Their last public appearance together was back in February 2020 at a Tom Ford fashion event.

As of September 2020, reports emerged of Nicole’s request for a substantial $2 million per month in spousal support. However, come October, a judge sided with the rapper, relieving him of the obligation to pay the proposed $1.5 million in security fees to his ex-wife.

In July 2021, court records unveiled a decision from a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, stating that Dre was to provide Nicole with monthly payments amounting to $293,306. This ruling was provisional until a final verdict could be reached.

The couple shares a bond through their two grown children. Their first child, Truice, came into the world in 1997, followed by Truly in 2001.
